When a child rides for the first time
The youngest children usually start on ponies, as a smaller animal feels less daunting to sit on. At first the instructor leads the pony on a rope while the child gets used to its stride and learns to stay steady in the saddle.
Each stable decides the youngest age it accepts. If the age is listed, you will find it on the stable's card and profile. Dress your child comfortably in closed shoes. The stable usually provides a helmet.
